Award-winning journalist Elizabeth Kolbert reported for The New York Times for 14 years and is well known for her New Yorker column“Metro Matters.” Field Notes From a Catastrophe: Man, Nature, and Climate Change (2006) grew out of her three-part New Yorker series, and with a clear, unbiased style, carefully explores global warming firsthand, and has been declared “a book sure to be influential as Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring.”
