Scott Simon is the guy who’s with you for your first cup of weekend coffee—the good-humored host of NPR’s Weekend Edition Saturday. Simon is also an award-winning journalist who isn’t afraid to get into the thick of things. Since 1977 he has reported from Central America, Africa, India, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and most recently Afghanistan. Simon is also an acclaimed novelist, whose works include Pretty Birds and Windy City (March 2008)
