A Poetry Reading
Billy Collins is nearly a household name. Called a modern-day Robert Frost who "takes ordinary subjects and plunders their insides until the inner mystery pops out," Collins is known for his stint as the U.S. Poet Laureate (2001–2003). He has nine collections of poetry, including Questions About Angels, a National Poetry Series selection, and has received awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York Foundation for the Arts. It is only by hearing Collins read his poetry that one can appreciate his genius. The reading will be interspersed with brief commentary.
