Marjane Satrapi is the creator of Persepolis, an inspiring two-part graphic novel. Publishers Weekly calls her coming-of-age-in-Iran story "poignant and unflinching." Adapted into an animated film in 2007, it garnered the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award. Satrapi's most recent graphic work includes Embroideries (2005) and Chicken with Plums (2006).
