Tutti a tavola a mangiare! Lidia Bastianich commands “Everybody at the table to eat!” She gets us there with her cookbooks, restaurants, and her popular public television cooking show.  Born in Pola, Istria on the northeastern coast of the Adriatic Sea, Lidia has sautéed her way into the hearts of millions. You can smell her pasta cooking right in Pittsburgh’s Strip District at the local Lidia’s restaurant. “I’m connected through food to everything in life,” Lidia says, “and I love sharing it.” Her new book, Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy, arrives just in time for 2009 holiday giving.
