Special Event: Wes Moore

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Hill House Kaufmann Center

Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium, 7:00 pm

altWes Moore is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and was a Rhodes Scholar.  He served as a paratrooper and captain in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan and as a White House Fellow in the U.S. Department of State.  He was named one of the top young business leaders in America and has appeared on the cover of Time magazine, which featured him in the article, "The New Greatest Generation."  His memoir, The Other Wes Moore, is about a kid with his same name, who grew up in the same neighborhood, but who ended up in prison for felony murder, and about the differences in their lives that made all the difference in determining their futures--like staying in school.  The book has recently been revised for the teen audience and will be published in September with a new title, Discovering Wes Moore.
