American Shorts @ WYEP would like to thank everyone who attended and participated in our 2010 summer series events. From a journalist's unforgettable account of a whirlwind road trip with the legendary author David Foster Wallace to awe-inspiring stories of moxie and might...from songs and poetry performed by Pittsburgh's emerging female voices to perspectives on Pittsburgh's stake in the immigration conversation, this past season engaged audiences with diverse literary programming. The success of this series would not have been possible without the invaluable partnership of WYEP and our creative collaborators, including the Moth, the New Hazlett Theater, cityLIVE!, City of Asylum/Pittsburgh, West Penn Allegheny Health System, and Whole Foods Market.
We invite you to use the navigation at your top left to learn more about each of the four events that were held this past summer. And, as we develop programming for next season, we'll keep you posted! If you have ideas for next season, please write us at info@pittsburghlectures.org.
About the series:
American Shorts @ WYEP is a multimedia series collaboration between Pittsburgh Arts & Lectures and 91.3fm WYEP. Always theme-oriented and culturally relevant, the series presents entertaining events developed in collaboration with local organizations and eclectic literary and musical talent. Sometimes underground, sometimes global in scope, we explore our themes through creative shorts, including readings, musical performances, and film screenings.
"Words, film, music...under one roof."
